I am so happy with how the invitations turned out. I made and printed them all myself, with the exception of creating the map, I "borrowed" that off the Padelford website. Shh don't tell them. I had so much fun making the invitations, I can't wait to make the programs next.
Since people will be getting their invitations soon I wanted to post a run down of the day in case there are any questions.
The ceremony will be held on the Minnesota Centennial Show boat at 3:30 pm. Guests will be able to start boarding the boat after 3:00 pm. The map and directions card with the invites will take you to this boat. If you follow directions from google or other mapping websites it may take you directly to the Padelford boats. There are two parking lots on Harriet Island. There are big brown signs all over the place, just follow the signs to the Showboat. You can visit Padelford Riverboat Company website for a larger map and more detailed directions.
After the ceremony we will be having a dinner reception on the Betsey Northrup. This boat will pull up alongside the Showboat and we will have a half hour to board. We are scheduled to leave at 4:30 and will return at 7:00.
Because we didn't want our wedding day to be over at 7, we decided to have an after party at Al Baker's Restaurant in Eagan. We are inviting anyone attending the wedding as well as all our work friends. The party will go until they close at 1 am.
We have reserved rooms at the Dakota Ridge - Best Western which just happens to be right next door to Al Baker's. Convenient huh? If you are looking for a hotel room give them a call and let them know that you are with the Letourneau/Volk wedding.
Directions to Al Baker's/Dakota Ridge from Harriet Island:
Follow Levee Rd out of the parking lot (google maps shows that road as Yacht Club Rd)
Take a right on Water St
Take a right on Wabasha St
Take a left to get on 35E South
Take exit 97B/Yankee Doodle Rd
Take a right on Yankee Doodle Rd
Take a left on Washington Dr
Al Baker's will be on your left and Dakota Ridge is next door on the left.
Two more things to add:
We are registered at Target and Crate and Barrel.
Those of you who received an invitation addressed only to yourself, please feel free to bring a guest.
