Before Dave and I were engaged we would occasionally talk about what kind of wedding we would want. During one of these talks he mentioned the river boats on the Mississippi. The idea stuck because we are using Padelford Riverboat Company for both the ceremony and reception.
The ceremony will take place on the Minnesota Centennial Showboat. It's a stationary boat that the U of M owns and uses for theater productions and Padelford is able to rent the boat for events during their off season.
For the reception we will be boarding the Betsey Northrup for the cruise up the river. This boat has two levels. The lower level is completely enclosed with windows that will open if it is nice, otherwise it is heated and air conditioned to accommodate for all weather. The upper level has a covered top but open on the sides. There will be tables and chairs for those who want to sit up there and enjoy the scenery.
We are so excited to have found a fun and unique venue. Next on the list is finding a photographer...
