The Proposal

On February 17th Dave asked me to marry him. Obviously I said "yes" or you would not be reading this.

It was our first day in Las Vegas and we were there celebrating my 30th birthday. Before we met up with family for dinner Dave wanted to spend a little alone time with me so we decided to wander in and out of some of the hotels and walk the strip. I quickly noticed he was taking pictures of some pretty strange things so I asked him about it and he told me he had a cool idea for a photo project and if it worked out he would show it to me later. I didn't think much of it since we have been playing around with photography ever since we got our DSLR camera. I watch as Dave laughs after taking some pictures while others he seems frustrated. I am more than curious now, but he would not even give me a clue as to what he was up to.
Dinner time is approaching and I start getting calls and text messages from family wondering where the heck we are. I am anxious to see them so we head back to the hotel to get changed for dinner. Once back in the room Dave tells me that I can see the photos that he has taken. He tells me to scroll through the pictures and to read out loud.

This is what I saw...

Love

At this point I am laughing. Then the next picture pops up...

What the...

Dave gets down on one knee and opens up the little white box to reveal a beautiful diamond ring. The same ring that I picked out months ago in the jewelry store.

He starts talking about love and commitment, and I am listening, I promise, but that beautiful ring, my beautiful ring is still in its box...just waiting to be placed on my finger. I am so excited and I apparently couldn't wait any longer, because I lose all sense of my manors and pluck that ring out of its box and put it on my finger.

Did I mention that I said "yes"?

Dave still laughs about the way I acted. And I still claim he took too long. I didn't want to stare at the ring in the box, I wanted to stare at the ring on my finger.

And so the next stage in our life together begins.

Welcome to our wedding blog!
